Part of the "Mom" club

Have you ever noticed that if you are with a group of women (friends or strangers) there are certain aspects of motherhood they love to talk about. It is those things that let us be part of the "Mom" club. I experienced two of them for the first time today, (it must have been my day for initiation into the club). Worms & a trip to the ER!

John was playing in our "mud plot" (see previos post) while Paul was working in the garden. Elizabeth comes running in the house telling me that John has something to show me. In walks my cute little three year old, with half an inch of mud caked to the bottom of his shoes right onto my nicely mopped wood floor. But he was bringing me a treasure. . . a worm!

He was so proud of his little worm. He was devastated when he swished it too hard and it "broke." We tried to convince him it would be OK, but I don't think he believed us. We did convince him to put it back in it's house - the mud.

I had moved the computer desk today so that we could see the computer while we were sitting on the couch to watch General Conference via the Internet. (For those who don't know, twice a year members of our church get to hear talks by the Prophet and other church leaders. They are broadcast around the world). We had just finished watching the first session today and were heading outside to let the kids play when I heard a thud and then Rachel crying. She had tripped on the computer cords and fell. Once we could see the source of all the blood in her mouth we knew she needed stitches. So off we went to the ER.

She came away with 2 stitches on the inside of her lip and 3 on the outside. She was a very brave little girl. Tonight as she was getting ready for bed she said to me, "I don't like that Doctor's office. I don't want to go there again." Hopefully she won't have to.

So if experiencing childbirth & breastfeeding wasn't enough to let me into the "Mom" club, I think today's adventures should let me in!

4 kids get's you in.... it's in the bylaws. You should have got your bylaws mailed to you after your first cross-country trip with 4 kids... along with your crazy card!
