Coloring Eggs

Have you ever wondered where the tradition to dye Eggs at Easter came from? I don't know the answer but each year we buy each of our kids a dozen eggs and let them have fun.

Rachel proudly showing one of her pretty eggs.

Sarah had never done this before and she thought it was great fun to plunk that egg in the cup and let the color splash all over. And even more fun to pull the egg out of the cup and see that it had gone from white to a pretty color from the rainbow.

You've got to watch John close because he really gets into his work of coloring eggs. He liked to dip his eggs over and over again. All of his eggs turned into "dinosaur eggs".

Each year Elizabeth will eat at least one token egg after we are done coloring them. She won't eat them any other time of the year though. And then unfortunately they sit in our refrigerator until garbage day. We don't really care for hard boiled eggs at our house, but we sure have fun coloring them.

You are so good to do a dozen each! We only did 18 for all of us!! That means about 3 each. Usually I end up giving one to the kids... this year it was Jace!
