Thankful moments
There were two reasons I started this blog. The first was to allow us to share with our family and friends (especially Grandparents) what our family is up to and see the kids as the grow. The second reason was to allow me, the busy worn our Mommy, to see that there is "joy in the journey", and "moments" everyday to be thankful for.
So as I hear Liz and Rachel yelling and arguing in the other room, see John throwing a tantrum for not getting to do what he wants, get Sarah off the kitchen table,

So as I hear Liz and Rachel yelling and arguing in the other room, see John throwing a tantrum for not getting to do what he wants, get Sarah off the kitchen table,
remind Liz to get ready for school, take Rachel back to bed, get John off the couch he jumped onto from the coffee table,
put the dish soap back under the sink that Sarah brought to me after she opened the child lock on the cabinet door, and all for the millionth time; I take a deep breath and remember the words of my eternally optimistic Mom,
"How wonderful that they do those things, they are healthy."
(Her words have deeper meaning after her years working in the NICU.)
Despite the chaos and frazzled nerves I am thankful that all my kids are healthy and doing the crazy things that healthy kids do. And I am learning there are "thankful moments" everyday that bring joy.

your mom has meant more to our family than you could never know. we just LOVE her. she asked that we plan a reunion of sorts for the July that they come back. she wants to get all of the kids together. it could be a big welcoming home party. she asked if we could host it and she has the spot all picked out. so i'd love to get in touch with all of you to work it out and set a tentative date. i'll collect email address from your mom. i hope that's ok. in the mean time, good luck with the chaos and nerves. it's all worth it and those days go way too fast.
